Intensive Training Program
Our Intensive Training Program in Community Reinforcement
Approach (CRA), Adolescent Community Reinforcement (A-CRA) and Community
Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) for providers are as follows:
Our Intensive Training Program is designed to help providers learn and
sustain an evidenced based treatment, while maintaining fidelity to the
models.
- Onsite
training and supervision provided by Drs. Meyers, Smith and/or Staff on
the following schedule (or an appropriate variation):
- Initial
2.5 day training for all staff, and supervisors.
- 1-day
onsite training at three months following the initial training; “optional”
- If
necessary a1-day onsite training and presentation of certificates at six
months following the initial training.
- Bi-monthly
phone conference calls with supervisors and staff until no longer needed.
- RJM staff will review and discuss ratings
and give feedback to therapists and supervisors on there audio taped
sessions to ensure correct clinical implementation; each taped session
will be given written feedback and some will also be discussed on coaching
calls.
- Each
staff, including supervisors, will need to meet criteria, or a minimum of eight (8) procedures on
the Procedural checklist provided, to help guide the therapist in the
certification process. It typically
requires each staff to submit approximately ten to twelve tapes to RJM
& Associates for review to obtain eight that reach the required skill
acquisition. Fees are $XX.00 USD
per tape, multiplied by the number of staff being trained.
- Once a
therapist has been certified they can then start the process to become a
certified supervisor.
CRAFT Supervisors
- Must
attend full CRAFT training.
- Required
to become certified as a therapist before beginning the supervisor
certification process.
- Required
to listen to and rate at least one therapist tape per week, when possible,
using the rating form and criteria provided by RJM & Associates and
maintain 80% agreement with expert rater for a minimum of 5 tapes. Tapes will be rated by
RJM & Associates staff, (inter-rater reliability).
- Required
to have on-site weekly supervision with CRAFT therapists. The supervision sessions should be taped
and then reviewed by RJM & and staff.
Written and verbal feedback on these sessions will be provided by
RJM & Staff. (Supervision can
occur in a group or individual).
- Demonstrates
during the taped supervision session (a) reinforcement of competent use of
the procedures; and (b) constructive feedback to improve one or more
aspects of the procedure or technique; (c) use CRA language and use CRAFT
philosophy during the supervision. 4 tapes must be approved for final
certification.
The fees for our Intensive Training Program are as follows
and are negotiable:
- Professional
Fees: Training fees for Dr. Meyers or Dr. Smith are ($XXXXXUSD per day),
any additional traveling day to and from the site ($XXX per travel day),
and time spent on conference calls by all staff is ($XXX per call).
- Travel
Expenses: All airfare, ground transportation and lodging fees are charged
to the program. These expenses vary
depending on many factors, but will be built into the contract at time of
signing.
- There
is a 12% administrative fee added to the total contract to pay for the
website, website upkeep, accountants, and Dr. Meyers time developing and
overseeing all contracts.
(1) All staff completing the training will receive a
certificate of attendance.
(2) Therapist can receive a certificate as a certified (A-CRA/FT)
therapist.
(3) Supervisors may also receive certificates of completion
of supervision training in (A-CRA/FT).
(4) Supervisors also
become eligible to pursue certification as a Trainer in CRA/FT if they so
desire.
All RJM & Associates have been trained in coding audio
tapes and also code tapes for (National Certification for all CSAT - A-CRA
participants.) We have an extensive
coding manual for each protocol to help all participants reach their goal of
certification and our goal of maintaining
fidelity to the model.
